Brushing and flossing your teeth will help you keep a good oral health.

Brushing your teeth:

Brushing which is regular and thorough helps you keep your teeth safe from decay and plague that may lead you to different gum diseases. As bacterial attack takes place just after the you eat, it is always ideal to brush soon after your meal. You should at least brush once in a day and is always good to brush before you go to bed.

Brushing is not a complicated practice, but there are both right and wrong ways of brushing. You should always brush at a 45 degree to your teeth. Care should be taken that not to scrub but to gently move the brush round, up and down, as brushing in a hard manner can recede the gums visibly. Chewing surface, cheek side and tongue surface, such even surfaces must be cleaned neatly. Never rush your brush along your teeth. You should take 2 to 3 minutes for brushing.

Flossing your teeth:

Flossing is considered as an essential part in keeping a healthy oral as it can clean the areas in your mouth where your brush cannot reach. This helps to avoid plaque in your mouth. Flossing can be done at anytime in a day. The most important thing is to do it. You just need a couple of minutes to floss. The best time to floss is morning and after your lunch.

While flossing care should be taken that you're not flossing too hard as it may damage your tissues between the teeth. Either the flossing should not be too gentle so that the food between the teeth does not get removed properly. This should be done in a normal way suitable to clean out the food remnants within the teeth.

Practicing an oral practice of brushing and flossing at least once a day will keep you far from dental issue to a greater extend. Along with this you should also keep a practice of meeting your doctor at least twice a year so as to have a regular check up with your dental health, and if any underlying issues prevail, get it treated as soon as possible before they get worsened.
